Conagra Procurement Specialist in Omaha, Nebraska

Reporting to the Procurement Director you, the Procurement Specialist will support Proteins. You'll build category strategy for raw cut supplies and customer services supporting raw protein, operations and suppliers following approved buying programs. Use the established procurement policy at a competitive price ensuring the needs of internal customers are met.

With guidance, you will:

  • Manage categories to help reduce potential supply and quality issues

  • Provide support for sourcing materials or services, savings projects, and procurement strategies.

  • Analyze data to ensure supply at competitive market prices

  • Provide POV (point of view) updates monthly to communicate changes in pricing, market data.

  • Provide forecasts and coordinates inventory run out plan on remaining short-shelf life EP owned materials with plants, M&OP, and suppliers

  • Manage raw protein cuts across multiple systems, including: JDE, SAP, and Right Angle to update, change, and monitor forecasted pricing and PPV (purchase price variance)

  • Monitor vendor quality and service performance with internal customers. Champion corrective actions and quality improvement plans with facilities, quality assurance, R&I and suppliers

  • Lead and implement process improvements, cost savings projects, working capital, and inventory plans.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance; Economics or Agricultural

  • 2+ year experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Finance or Sales.

  • Experience analyzing data with a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Experience using SAP or comparable ERP systems

  • Excel – vlookups, formula relationships, pivot tables,

  • Detail Oriented

  • Minimal travel required.

  • 3 Days in the Omaha Office Tuesday - Thursday
