A Brief Overview

Oversees the daily transactional review of compensation-related inquiries and requests. Maintains the pay structure and salary ranges. Configures job families and job tracks. Evaluates new job titles and conducts ongoing reclassification. Participates in salary surveys and maintains a quality survey library. Maintains compensation systems such as JDXpert and MarketPay. Makes recommendations for enhancements to current compensation processes; and evaluates new compensation programs. Works in partnership with the rest of the Human Resources team to ensure that compensation and incentive programs are competitive in the market.

Essential Functions

  • Performs team member, leader, and peer support activities to develop, implement, and administer compensation in conformance to established compensation guidelines, policies, and practices. Recommends corrective or alternative actions to resolve compensation-related problems. Provides support and collaboration in decision-making for job offers.

  • Audits jobs for content and prepares job descriptions reflecting essential functions, qualifications, and physical and working demands. Reviews requests for new or revised job descriptions to determine appropriate salary grade assignment. Maintains job description library.

  • Develops and/or participates in compensation surveys to collect and analyze competitive salary information to determine company's competitive position.

  • Assists in the development, implementation, and administration of all compensation programs including market, merit, and variable pay programs.

  • Performs routine compensation-related maintenance in HRIS, including job setup, position setup and licensure requirements. Performs regular and on-demand compensation tasks for payroll functions.

  • Formulates recommendations regarding development of company salary structure, FLSA exemptions, job revisions, and organizational structures.

  • Reviews existing and proposed statutory requirements governing compensation administration and recommends appropriate courses of action. Assists in developing compensation policies and procedures.

  • Prepares and delivers compensation-related training and communications to HR, leaders or employees as appropriate.

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related disciplined Required

Experience Qualifications

  • 4-6 years Progressive experience in an HR (recruiting, generalist, payroll) role with a minimum of 3 years experience in compensation analysis and administration Required

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook.

  • Demonstrated strong proficiency with Excel, including formulas and complex data manipulation with large amounts of data.

  • Experience with HRIS reporting.

  • Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills.

  • Skills in partnering with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with all levels of employees.

  • Advanced organizational skills essential for meeting tight deadlines as well as managing multiple complex tasks in a timely manner.

  • Ability to direct own work and establish work priorities.

  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Thorough knowledge of all applicable legislation and regulations related to compensation.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) Preferred

  • PHR or SHRM-CP Preferred
