Eaton Corporation Sr. Manufacturing Engineer in Omaha, Nebraska

Eaton’s Power Distribution Controls & Assemblies division is currently seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer. This role is located out of Omaha, NE. Relocation assistance will be provided.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $​​​​80,250 - $117,700 a year.

Provide a broad knowledge of seasoned professional engineering support to manufacturing operations and plant facility maintenance. Drive continuous improvement in overall product line operations performance through the application of sound engineering decisions, lean tools, Six Sigma technologies and project leadership. Documentation and execution of major projects and assignments within the manufacturing, warranty and engineering functions.

What you’ll do:

  • Assume full responsibility of interrelated functions, facilities, products or activities and provide assistance to line and staff personnel in order to develop solutions for product and manufacturing challenges for a complete line of apparatus

  • Initiate and prepare specifications for products, equipment, tooling, processes and systems to obtain optimum cost and quality manufacturability

  • Implement and utilize strategies to ensure concurrent engineering and design for manufacturing concepts with the design engineering team

  • Design, develop, justify and guide the installation of new engineering concepts, equipment, tooling, processes and systems through appropriate procedures so that optimum manufacturing cost can be achieved and maintained.

  • Deploy Lean, Quality and Environment/Safety tools to improve productivity, quality and safety

  • Identify improvements for productivity, quality and business processes. Develop and implement solutions and monitor the results.

  • Assist hourly personnel and supervisor in their efforts to improve their operations

  • Plan, coordinate and oversee changes and upgrades to the manufacturing facility

  • Benchmark other plants for best in class processes and suggest implementation opportunities, and implement the best practices if applicable.

  • Utilize Eaton lean tools to drive cost reduction and improve working capital performance.

  • Work through leadership team to prioritize improvement activities and close gaps. Provide Eaton Lean System support across the plant to drive business improvements, support lean initiatives and reporting requirements

  • Outline the required workflow and material handling devices including storage areas, work areas and workplace layout.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of three (3) years work experience in manufacturing environment

  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering degree

  • Five year’s work experience in manufacturing environment with focus on manufacturing engineering

Skills:

  • Knowledge of engineering problem solving and quality techniques Sound understanding of production, inventory, financial principles and working knowledge of lean principles.

  • Strong communication skills

  • Strong understanding of Lean concepts and toolset

  • Team facilitation experience and ability to gain buy-in and drive change

  • Must have strong project management and project execution skills
