Position Overview

We are seeking a self-motivated Tax Accountant to join our Corporate Tax department. This is a great opportunity to work with a team and continue to grow your skills and career. This department is responsible for tax research and planning, income tax, transaction tax (sales & use, VAT, GST) property tax, and tax incentives. The successful candidate’s initial assignment will be to the transaction tax group and will need to be a highly motivated individual with the ability to build relationships quickly and naturally. These relationships will bring this candidate the credibility needed to operate as a successful business partner within the Kiewit Companies.

This position is based out of our Omaha, Nebraska office.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of transactional tax returns (state, local, and international)

  • Analysis of tax payable accounts

  • Completion of assigned projects

  • Monitor tax legislation

  • Assist with tax audits

  • Research and analysis of tax issues

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or equivalent

  • Zero to three years of accounting experience

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Proven technical abilities

  • Ability to conduct research

  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office and research software)

  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented

  • Willing and able to put in the time required to meet deadlines

  • Able to work independently, and as part of a team

  • Some travel may be required
