Position Available: Independent Living Advisor - Overnight Shift Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly dorm by effectively managing student behavior and conductShift: Overnight Shift, Wednesday through Sunday 11:30pm-8:30amMajor Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure accurate accountability of students who are present for duty at the centerMonitor student activity in the dorm, and provide counseling, and guidance to students in assigned dorms regarding attitudes, behavior, and interpersonal relationships with others. Reinforce positive behaviors and hold students accountable for negative behaviors.Direct students and assist during maintenance and cleanup of dorms and dormitory areasProvide students with training in independent living and leadership skillsMaintain all shift logs, enter data into the Center Information System as well as student folders, and report any unusual or critical issues to Supervisors Support dorm Supervisor, Counselor, and other team members on their caseloads in providing effective case management services to students Act as a member of a team with other Independent Living Advisors assigned to dorms by completing assigned shift duties and communicating all shift-specific information appropriatelyAct as an advisor to the Student Peer Court Skills and Competencies:Ability to relate to and work with the youthProven customer service skillsExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to meet frequent deadlines and handle stressful, hectic situations without losing efficiency and composure Proficient in using computer software and Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. High IntegrityHonorable Work EthicOrganized Detail OrientedExcellent Time Management, and Documentation Skills Educational Requirements/Experience: High School Diploma or GED. Residential experience in a group home/college dormitory setting is preferred. Compensation is based on experience. Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
