Inspects electronic systems, assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and parts for conformance to specifications by performing the following duties:

<li>Examines layout and installation of wiring, cables, sub-assemblies, hardware, and components to detect assembly errors. <li>Compares assembly with parts list to detect missing hardware. <li>Examines joints and pulls wires and cables to locate soldering defects. <li>Examines alignment of parts and measures parts for conformance to specified dimensions. <li>Twists cable assemblies to verily freedom of movement and qualify cable strength. <li>Traces cables and harness assemblies, following cable wiring diagram, to verify routing of wires to specified connections and conformance of cable lacing and insulation to manufacturing standards. <li>Examines parts for surface defects such as chips, scratches, delamination and pinholes. <li>Examines production documents to ensure that all assembly, inspecting, and testing steps were performed according to specifications. <li>Calculates percentage of defective parts. <li>Records inspection data such as serial number, type and percent of defects, and rework required. <li>Directs rework of broken connections on components and parts.

<li>Performs functional and operational tests, using electronic test equipment such as frequency meter, oscilloscope, and signal generator, or performs destructive tests to determine tensile strength of product or part. <p> Education and/or Experience: <li>High School or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

<li>Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

<li>To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Electronic Communication systems (i.e., e-mail); Database software; Internet software; Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
