Robert Half Technical Project Manager in Orange, California

Description

We’re looking for a Project Manager to join our expanding team! In this role, you’ll collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to oversee and manage product development projects from initial concept through to launch. Your responsibilities will include resource management, problem-solving, project completion, and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs). We’re seeking someone with an engineering background who understands the product development lifecycle and can lead teams to successfully develop new products in an ODM environment. What You'll Do:

  • Work with both internal teams and external partners to define, prioritize, plan, manage, and report on projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

  • Develop and oversee project governance plans, including schedules, goals, success criteria, milestones, resources, and budgets.

  • Create and manage data collection and reporting processes to track key project metrics and provide updates to stakeholders.

  • Take ownership of issue management, risk mitigation, decision-making, and overall project success in collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers.

  • Ensure all project documentation and deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.

    Requirements

What You Bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree, ideally in a STEM field.

  • Over 2 years of project management experience.

  • More than 5 years of experience in mechanical or electrical product development as an engineer.

  • Proficiency with MS Project, Gantt charts, and the Phase Gate process.

  • An entrepreneurial mindset with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to keep projects on track.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage resources through effective planning, organizing, scheduling, and coordination.

  • Willingness to travel up to 15% both nationally and internationally.
