JOB DESCRIPTION:Applications are currently being invited for a part-time (35% of full-time effort) Clinical Evaluator position available under the direction of Dr. Russell Tobe at the Nathan S. Kline Institute for Psychiatric Research (NKI). The NKI is focused on understanding the underlying biology of and advancing treatments for psychiatric illnesses. All studies require refined diagnostic characterizations and have significant clinical applicability. The Clinical Evaluator would join a multi-disciplinary team of a psychiatrist, research nurse, psychologist, research assistant, and rotating trainees/interns.JOB DUTIES:The Clinical Evaluator will provide diagnostic evaluations, conduct clinically based research-ratings, assist in protocol management, collaborate with community referral agencies and other NKI research groups, manage community-based outreach, and coordinate with families and individuals interested in research participation. If interested, opportunities for data-analysis and scientific publication will be available. If applicable, pathways to obtain clinical supervision hours for licensure are available in this position.Responsibilities include any combination of behavioral, neuropsychological and psychiatric assessment; recruitment; and data management.JOB QUALIFICATIONS;Minimum:Research reliability certification in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) is required.Preferred:Familiarity or past certifications in the Childhood Depression Rating Scale, Kiddie Schedule for Affective and Depressive Disorders and MINI psychiatric interview are preferred. Individuals with New York State clinical licenses (e.g. clinical psychologist, LCSW) are preferred.Background Investigation/Justice Center Review Requirements:Prospective appointees will be: 1) Checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs. Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment. 2) Screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR).
