Location: South Madison

Start Date: 2 Weeks after Winter Break

Salary/Wage: $50/hr

Terms/Schedule: Full time - Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Description:

South Madison is seeking a dedicated and passionate special educationteacher to serve students in grades 9-12 The ideal candidate will beknowledgeable in the following areas:

• Co-teaching

• Development and Implementation of IEPs

• Elementary curriculum

• Zones of Regulation

• Problem Solving

• Data-Based Decision Making

• Collaborative Partnerships

• Relationship Building with Staff, Students, and Families

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with general education teachers to co-teach and support inclusive classrooms.

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs.

• Utilize the elementary curriculum to create engaging and effective lesson plans.

• Apply the Zones of Regulation framework to support students’ emotional and behavioral development.

• Employ problem-solving strategies and data-based decision making to address student needs.

• Foster collaborative partnerships with colleagues, families, and the community.

• Build strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and families to create a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s preferred).

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education.

• Experience in co-teaching and developing IEPs.

• Strong understanding of elementary curriculum and instructional strategies.
