Mountainland Technical College Substitute Instructor in Orem, Utah

Substitute Plumbing Apprenticeship Instructor

Location: Orem, UT

Status: Part-time

Hours: Monday – Friday, 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. as needed

Pay / Hourly: $30.25

SUMMARY

As a Substitute Plumbing Apprenticeship Instructor, you will train students for employment in plumbing. Your role is key in ensuring that students develop the skills they need to be job-ready. Come enjoy the rewards of helping a new generation of plumbing students launch successful careers!

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Travel to the Spanish Fork or Lehi campuses might be necessary.

  • Teach engaging lessons, using hands-on, skill-based competency training to the greatest extent possible.

  • Develop and/or maintain lesson plans for classroom and lab activities.

  • Manages, and supervises students in the classroom and on the practical floor.

  • Evaluate instruction/learning by means of written, oral practical and performance tests.

  • Maintains student-oriented approach, and desirable classroom conditions. Check equipment daily for hazards, ensuring it is maintained and properly repaired.

  • Maintains accurate and current reports and records regarding student accountability, attendance, and performance.

    QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required

  • Journeyman Plumber

  • Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques.

  • Ability to instruct, manage, motivate, and evaluate student work in an industrial trade environment.

  • Working knowledge and skill of up-to-date industrial trade principals, and techniques.

  • Safety skills and the ability to use and maintain industry-related hand and power tools.

  • Ability to successfully interact with high school and adult students, parents, business and industry representatives, other educators and educational institution representatives, and the general public in a professional manner.
