River Dunes Harbor Club Dishwasher in Oriental, North Carolina

River Dunes Marina and Harbor Club is looking for a Dishwasher. The Harbor Club provides an exceptional level of casual fine dining food and beverage. The primary purpose of this position is to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the Habor Club dining room and kitchen.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the availability of clean dishes by bussing tables, washing dishes, pots, pans, and flatware, and resetting dining areas. Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately when not in use.
  • Set up workstations before meal prep begins; Preparing dining areas and kitchen for next shift by cleaning and restocking dining areas and cook stations.
  • Cleaning machines and appliances used in the kitchen, such as coffee makers, pots and pans, mixers, etc.
  • Unloading and storing deliveries.
  • Sweeping and mopping floors, especially in the event that items are broken or spilled.
  • Taking out the trash and rinsing garbage cans regularly.
  • Load and unload dishwashing machines.
  • Ensure there are always enough clean dishes, glasses and utensils, especially during peak hours.
  • Maintain cleaning supplies stock (e.g. detergents) and place orders when necessary.
  • Sanitize the kitchen area, including the floor.
  • Supporting other restaurant staff members by assisting with other tasks, as needed.
  • Maintain on-going communication and collaboration with all staff including the kitchen with the aim of achieving high levels of cooperation and service excellence.
  • Comply with all standard operating procedures, policies, expectations and guidelines established by the company, the Department of Health, and other applicable government agencies.

Education, Experience and Knowledge

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role preferred, experience in a private club or luxury setting a plus.
  • Ability to follow instructions and excellent time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and cleanliness in accordance with sanitary procedures and standards.
  • Commitment to deliver an outstanding guest experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with kitchen staff and servers.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Flexible work schedule with open availability including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed; can adjust to operational need.
