Dignitas Technologies LLC 1220 - Sr. Systems Engineer in Orlando, Florida

Summary:

Perform as a Senior System Engineer, to design, develop, support, and maintain the organization’s systems infrastructure, including the implementation and design of hardware and software.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides analysis related to the design, development, and integration of hardware, software, man-machine interfaces and all system level requirements to provide an integrated IT solution.

  • Develops integrated system test requirements, strategies, devices and systems.

  • Directs overall system level testing.

  • Formulates/defines system scope and objectives.

  • Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.

  • Works with project managers, developers, and end users to ensure application designs meet business requirements.

  • Prepares detailed specifications for programs.

  • Assists in the design, development, testing, implementation, and documentation of new software and enhancements of existing applications.

  • Supports configuration management, change management, and release and deployment management activities in coordination with the team and customer.

  • Supports administration of a Trouble Ticketing and Problem Reporting System.

  • Supports development of training materials as a subject matter expert.

  • Provides technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments.

  • Provides consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top-level contributor/specialist of most phases of systems analysis, while considering the business implications of the applications of technology to the current and future business environment.

  • Establishes goals and plans that meet project objectives. Has domain and expert technical knowledge.

  • Directs and controls activities for a client, having overall responsibility for methods and staffing to ensure that technical requirements are met.

  • Interactions involve client negotiations and interfacing with senior management.

  • Decision making abilities and domain knowledge may have a critical impact on overall project implementations.

Specific/Required Skills:

  • Previous experience in software development, computer programming, or other related fields.

  • System Engineering experience

  • Experience decomposing customer need statements into bounded requirements. This includes functional and performance (network & computer based) requirements.

  • Requirements verification development

  • Knowledge of Java, C, C++, or other programming language

  • Familiarity with relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, and SQL Server

  • Familiarity with tools such as Rhapsody & DOORS

  • Deadline and detail-oriented

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to more junior teammates

  • Experience developing U.S. military modeling, simulation, and training systems

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and minimum of 7 years of related experience

Desired Education:

  • Master’s degree in related field or other relevant degree or certifications

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

Current/active secret clearance preferred or ability to obtain secret clearance

Must be a US Citizen

Some travel may be required
