Job Title: Remote Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

We are seeking dedicated Pharmacy Technicians located in the EST time zone to review Prior Authorizations for determination in a large healthcare insurance department. You will be responsible for either approving or denying authorizations and sending them to a Pharmacist for final review. This role involves handling all health plans and various types of medications.

Responsibilities

  • Process prescription exceptions including resolving claim rejects and member and physician outreach.

  • Enter member demographics and prescription information into the data processing system.

  • Research and resolve rejected insurance billing issues and/or escalated member issues.

  • Escalate questions regarding prescriptions to a Pharmacist for interpretation or provide direction on processing.

  • Assist with inbound and/or outbound patient or physician calls.

Essential Skills

  • High School diploma or GED.

  • Current Pharmacy Registration and Certification as required by the state of operation.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Strong computer skills.

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician.

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • National certification preferred.

  • Experience with Prior Authorization, Microsoft Office, and data processing systems.

  • Experience in call centers, PBM, hospital, or specialty pharmacy.

Work Environment

This is a professional remote position requiring strong Wi-Fi and a private office space with a closed door. The shift is Monday-Friday 8am-8pm in the time zone you live in, with rotating weekends and some holidays. Training will be from 10am-6:30pm EST, after which regular shifts will be assigned. Schedules are provided three months in advance. The company provides necessary equipment including a computer, monitor, and headset.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00
