Butler America Engineering Technician in Orlando, Florida

Engineering Technician Location: Orlando, FL (32819) Job ID: #69814 Pay Range: $32-37 Only on-site work Must be a US Citizen THE COMPANY - Work with one of the World's Largest American Owned Aerospace and Technology companies. Summary * Serves as an engineering technician in the Structures and Environmental Test Laboratories at the Sand Lake Road Facility in Orlando, Florida reporting to the manager of the Instrumentation Group. * Daily tasks include installing various types of instrumentation including but not limited to accelerometers, thermocouples, load cells, pressure transducers, and acoustic transducers. *The candidate would be responsible for connecting the instrumentation to a data acquisition system with signal conditioning equipment. * He or she is responsible for collecting the instrumentation response data and processing it for the customer into the format they prefer. * Technicians will also interface with internal customers to review data and requirements to produce on-time error free response data Basic Required Qualifications:

  • BA Degree is not required. High school diploma and 5+ years of work experience in related industry is required.

  • Candidates must be able to obtain Secret Clearance. Not required to start.

  • Candidate shall possess general electrical knowledge including the ability to interpret electrical schematics and comprehend Ohm’s Law for resistive, current and voltage calculations.

  • Requires strong math, writing and communication skills.

  • Proficient in the operation of digital data acquisition systems and electronic test equipment.

  • Capable of obtaining an ATF Explosives Possessors License.

  • Candidate must have ability to obtain a ATF Possessor's License.

  • Able to drive company vehicles and golf carts

  • Proficient in the use of computers for basic data transfer, communication, and project documentation.

    Desired Skills:

  • Ability to fabricate electronic cable, connector assemblies and electrical circuit boards.

  • Calibrate, install and properly connect instrumentation such as accelerometers, pressure and displacement transducers.

  • Ability to calibrate and operate digital data acquisition systems and verify their correct and properly functioning.

  • Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests in accordance with test requirements and established procedures and practices.

  • Working knowledge of signal processing and data processing skills.

  • Working knowledge of MatLab and data acquisition software (Dewesoft).

  • Possesses a vocational degree in instrumentation.
