Environment, Health, and Safety Lead - "W-TRS"

Job Description:

*Develops and supports the Environmental Health and Safety standards and programs across the program, ensuring compliance with Federal, state, and Local regulatory and program-specific requirements.

*Develops various reporting systems and provides safety analysis as required.

*Modifies and implements compliance tracking programs and recordkeeping systems.

*Develops technical documents including EHS procedures, programs, and guidance documents.

*Responsible for environmental safety risk management.

*Conducts investigations and root cause analysis and may make resolution recommendations.

*Implements corrective/preventative actions and continuous improvement activities as directed related to ESH.

*Monitors environmental compliance issues and provides assistance with workplace safety matters.

*Performs job hazard assessments by participating in processes and procedures and researching industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

*Responsible for ensuring mandatory reporting of program accidents and incidents.

*Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing necessary information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with health and safety regulations.

*Ensures appropriate personnel obtain and maintain requisite OSHA and other training appropriate to job responsibilities.

Education/Experience :

(10+BA/BS or 5+MA/MS) or (14+AA/No Degree)

Certification(s):

None

Required Experience: *Experience providing development and support the Environmental Health and Safety standards and programs across the program, ensuring compliance with Federal, state, and Local regulatory and program-specific requirements.

*Experience developing various reporting systems and provides safety analysis as required, modifications and implementation of compliance tracking programs and recordkeeping systems.

*Experience developing of technical documents including EHS procedures, programs, and guidance documents.

*Responsible for environmental safety risk management.

*Experience conducting investigations and root cause analysis and may make resolution recommendations.

*Implementing corrective/preventative actions and continuous improvement activities as directed related to ESH.

*Experience monitoring environmental compliance issues and aids with workplace safety matters.

*Experience performing job hazard assessments by participating in processes and procedures and researching industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

*Experience ensuring mandatory reporting of program accidents and incidents (H.35).

*Experience informing personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing necessary information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with health and safety regulations.

*Experience ensuring appropriate personnel obtain and maintain requisite OSHA and other training appropriate to job responsibilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The worker is primarily in an office environment. Programs will require travel to and working in outside environments at government locations from hot and dry to cold and humid. PPE required to mitigate environmental and safety hazards.
