NBC Universal Internship – Merchandise Operations (Summer 2025) in Orlando, Florida

Universal Destinations & Experiences Internship Program:

    JOB SUMMARY:

Intern will learn all aspects of the Merchandise operation including retail, carnival style games, outdoor carts, candy stores, and warehouse operations. Intern will learn to understand all P&L categories, budgetary expenditures, and the three-legged stool. This role will provide opportunities to build positive working relationships while working alongside and leading team members.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in location operations, including opening and closing procedures.

  • Manages locations in cleanliness, merchandising, and visual standards.

  • Assists with talent management, which includes having effective communication and human resources.

  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures and policies, and learns leadership skills focusing on fairness and consistency.

  • Manages location P&L including labor, non-labor, and cost of goods.

  • Understands the inventory process including buying, shipping, warehouse, and relieving inventory.

  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION:

  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.

  • Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.

  • Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.

  • An official transcript may be required upon request.

  • Preferred majors include: Business Management, Hospitality.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Preferable skills for success in role include but not limited to:

  • Basic finance understanding required.

  • Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Superior written & verbal communication skills.

  • Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.

  • Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.

  • Consistent attendance.

  • This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.

  • Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than August 2025.

  • Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
