    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Must have a valid Florida driver’s license.

  • Willing to assist with other activities when not driving the motor vehicle.

  • Successful completion of the employment screening process includes, but is not limited to, a national background investigation and drug test.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience driving a large passenger van.

  • Experience in a long-term care or hospital environment.

  • High School Diploma or GED

    POSITION DESCRIPTION:

    The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Therapy Aide Supervisor. The duties and responsibilities include transporting facility residents while adhering to the safety rules and regulations of the agency. The Motor Vehicle Operator will assist in ensuring a safe environment exists in compliance with all Federal, State, and Local requirements.

  • Safely transports residents following the scheduled route and accommodating special medical and approved resident transportation requests.

  • Maintains and cleans the state vehicles on a regular basis and reports any maintenance concerns to the supervisor and Maintenance Director.

  • Completes all appropriate paperwork including the transportation log, pre/post inspection sheets and daily trip log.

  • Responsible for training staff in accordance with FDVA driving procedures in conjunction with the Activities and Transportation Supervisor.

  • Other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
