M/I Homes Purchasing Administrator in Orlando, Florida

Provides general administrative support for Purchasing department. Accountable for finalizing new home start packages and oversees adherence to the start’s assembly process. Manages, processes, and reports variance costs for field related expenses. Performs routine assigned tasks through the use of basic office skills in conjunction with direction from supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides general administrative support for costing department including routine processing of correspondence from rough or revised draft, data entry, preparation and/or maintenance of miscellaneous reports and vendor files.

  • Responsible for managing new vendor applications, insurance verifications and onboard training.

  • Provide support to other Departments for lot related issues.

  • Finalize new home start packages which includes:

  • Assists with questions related to the Purchasing Department and mediating any day-to-day issues between our Trade Partners, Construction Supervisors, and Sales Team.

  • Performs additional assignments as requested by Manager.

  • Process end of month reports, adjustments and closing costs.

  • Upload documentation for department in SharePoint.

  • Assists in building and quality inspecting budgets for new home starts.

  • Posts and maintains home specific data to the extranet.

  • Responsible for complete start packages to the construction staff.

  • Work closely with vendor base to ensure proper information is delivered.

  • Managing variance/ overage costs includes:

  • Ensure procedures are followed for variance cost requests.

  • Working closely with department managers for variance cost approvals.

  • Reporting & Analyzing variance cost data.

Requirements

Minimum Education Experience:

  • HS Diploma Required

Skills and Abilities:

  • Customer-service oriented with professional and courteous attitude.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills for interaction with a variety of people inside and outside of organization; ability to follow oral and written instructions.

  • Good working knowledge of word processing, estimating and spreadsheet software packages.

  • Ability to understand construction products and design options

  • Data Entry, Accounts Payable, and Database Maintenance Experience desired

  • Oracle JD Edwards JPD920 desired
