The Engineering Manager Latin America uses their industry knowledge to oversee a variety of activities. They may coordinate and direct activities on a site or activities related to maintenance, testing, quality assurance, operations and remote monitoring of Siemens Energy equipment. Other duties may include:

  • Developing andsupporting detailed plans and dispositions for engineering inquiries.

  • Makingdeterminations for equipment, process or procedures improvement, staff andtraining needs

  • Leading andsupport research or fact-finding supporting root cause analysis.

  • Overseeing andstrategize remote monitoring

  • Proposingproject and program budgets

  • Hiring andsupervising staff

  • Checkingtheir team’s work for technical accuracy

  • Ensuring ordeveloping the validity of methods, processes and procedures used by staffCoordinatingwork with other managers and staff

The position will oversee a multi-client, multi-facility portfolio of properties, as well as provide technical and engineering support for the business unit. The Engineering Manager will lead, manage, direct, and be responsible for the technical support of projects and the remote monitoring portfolio within Gas Services Latin America, ensuring the delivery of services per contractual guidelines. As a member of the Latin America regional management team, this position will actively participate in strategic and tactical functions related to reliability of client facilities, profitability of the business and customer satisfaction.

The Head of Engineering Latin America will report directly to the Head of Service Operations in Latin America.

  • Responsible for directing the engineering function andmaintenance activities including implementing and monitoring necessary engineeringdispositions and remote monitoring services.

  • Provide Leadership and Mentorship, to structure andguide highly skilled engineering team, enhancing both performance andprofessional growth

  • Coordinate dispositions to modifications, additions andrepair in the plant including those performed by or scheduled by SiemensEnergy.

  • Run and drive Root Cause Analysis reviews andCorrection Actions implementation across the business in Latin America toassure process improvements and best practices shared and implemented onall operations.

  • Supervise and direct the scheduling of personnelassigned to the different product lines.

  • Perform administrative activities necessary for theeffective management of the department including establishing effectiveworking relationships with site employees, factories and other departmentswithin the company.

  • Customer Engagement, by working closely with clients toanalyze system requirements, ensuring optimal dispositions and effective remotemonitoring service delivery.

  • Theimplementation and delivery of client and site personnel activities, serving asthe senior project manager for all projects and service contracts within theassigned area of responsibility.

  • Performingcondition assessments of units or facilities where Siemens Energy is providingservices.

  • The development and implementation of an effective Remote Monitoring Programfor all accounts.

  • Assists indeveloping and implementing local team strategies and action plans consistentwith the strategies, goals and objectives of Gas Services Latin America businessand the clients.

  • Providesregular feedback to the Head of Service Operations on progress made towardsachieving these plans and targets.

  • Develop and support short, intermediate, and long termplans, programs, and strategies for Gas Service Latin America business,consistent with the service strategic plan and business unit's goals andobjectives.

  • Prepares Monthly Operations Reviews with financial andoperational KPIs including accomplishments, challenges &opportunities, market overviews and key initiatives.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Head of ServiceOperations.

WhatYou Bring

  • Four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering from anaccredited college or university (required).

  • Professional state engineering license (preferred).

  • Extensive experience in gas turbines or power plants orsimilar technologies (required).

  • Fluent English and Spanish.

  • Experience in leading multicultural teams.International management experience is preferred

  • Have 8-10 years oftechnical operations and/engineering management experience in powergeneration systems and/or the service industry to includemechanical/electrical maintenance functions, balance of plant, etc.(required).

  • Be willing and able to travel more than 35% (required).

  • Be an excellent verbal and written communicator.

  • Able to establish and maintain effective relationshipswith our employees and clients.

  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office, Outlook,internet, etc.).

  • Lean Management experience is a plus, not requisite
