Your Mission:

Are you eager to kickstart your career in High Performance Computing (HPC)? Join our dynamic team as an HPC Computational Engineer and empower developers and engineers to fully leverage supercomputing resources! In this role you will:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, developers, and scientists from multiple departments, to deliver new capabilities, implement best practices, and provide exceptional customer engagement.

• Serve as a user advocate, offering training and one-on-one assistance for onboarding users new to HPC and guiding them in advanced topics like parallel programming using OpenMPI or OpenMP.

• Standardize HPC applications using container technologies and automated security scanning tools for enhanced security and efficiency.

• Characterize both HPC software and hardware through benchmarking and regression testing across multiple platforms, optimizing execution at scale.

• Develop advanced troubleshooting skills and provide recommendations to the core HPC system, increasing system efficiency as you gain understanding.

• Grow your scripting/programming skills and expand your overall knowledge of HPC and IT tools in a supportive and innovative environment.

How about Fridays off? (Well, typically anyway – this IS an IT role, ya know?) This role is scoped on a 4x10 schedule! All work must be performed on-site in our secure facility in Orlando, FL – and it may include some occasional off-shift hours, weekends, and limited travel.

Basic Qualifications:

• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, and customers' acceptance.

• Experience with Linux operating systems

• Experience with any programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Golang, Python, or Rust

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Security+, or other IAT Level II/III security certification within 6 months of hire.

• Demonstrated experience effectively performing in a fast paced, dynamic environment

• Experience developing effective stakeholder and partner relationships

• Ability to work through technical, project, operational, and resource challenges.

• Proven business acumen to manage multiple assignments and projects with the ability to balance technical requirements with business needs and affordability

• Demonstrated collaboration, including interpersonal and teaming skills

Desired Skills:

• Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance with background investigation within 6 years

• Security+, CISSP, or other IAT Level II/III security certification

• Familiarity with any engineering discipline such as Software, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, Aerospace, Chemical, Materials, Industrial, etc.

• Scripting ability such as with Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.

• Experience with version control such as Git

• Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, RKE2, Singularity/Apptainer)

• Experience with virtualization such as VMWare

• Technical documentation creation and management; including documenting existing environments

• Understanding of routing/switching networking concepts

• Understanding of IT infrastructure and cybersecurity best practices

• Understanding of parallel and concurrent programming paradigms and implementations (MPI, OpenMP)

• Understanding of publish/subscribe architectures and implementations (Kafka, Redis)

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
