Lockheed Martin SYSTEMS ENGINEER – IT / Early Career Level in Orlando, Florida

Rotary and Mission Systems' Training and Logistics Solutions (TLS) business is Lockheed Martin’s center of excellence for training and logistics products and services, serving the U.S. military and more than 65 international customers around the world. Based in Orlando, TLS develops programs that teach service men and women skills to accomplish their most challenging missions — flying the world’s most advanced fighter aircraft, navigating ships and driving armored vehicles.

TLS is the corporation’s hub for simulation, X reality, live-virtual-constructive capabilities, advanced training devices and full-service training programs. TLS also provides sustainment services such as supply chain and logistics IT solutions, spares and repairs, as well as automated test and support equipment.

THE WORK:

This is a position for a Systems IT Engineer on F35 Pilot Training Devices (PTD) as part of the Operational Baseline Integrated Product Team (IPT)

As a key member of our System IT team you will:

• Manage system integrity, availability, and cyber compliance of networked systems

• Assist in the development of solutions across components of systems through design, integration, implementation, and support

• Perform guidance and management for hardware, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance on multiple architectures

• Develop, evaluate, and test system requirements

• Develop and integrate changes to operational baseline such as operating system and third party software updates, switch configuration updates, hardware compatibility, virtualization and containerization

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot new systems at customer sites

• Create and maintain system design and process documentation

• Collaborate with other program personnel, participating in cross functional Agile teams

WHO WE ARE:

The Pilot Training Devices (PTD) team creates flight simulators for the F35 fighter jet. The Operational Baseline Integrated Product Team is responsible for the infrastructure, third party software, and security policies across all of our PTD products.

This position will require the selected candidate to have or obtain an Interim Secret level U.S. government security clearance before starting with Lockheed Martin, as well as obtain a Special Access Program U.S. government security clearance within a reasonable time after starting the position. U.S. citizenship is a requirement for consideration.

A level 2 employee is typically early-career and has 2 or more years of professional experience.

Note: This role will require domestic and international travel (up to 30%). Candidates will be asked to obtain a DoD IAT Level II certification within 3 months of their start date, if they do not already have a certification.

Basic Qualifications:

• Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance (requires US Citizenship)

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, with 2 years of professional experience; or no professional experience with a related Master’s degree

• Linux Server Administration (RedHat and SLES) experience

• Windows Server and Desktop OS experience

Desired Skills:

• DoD IAT Level II certification (i.e. Sec+ CE)

• Knowledgeable in information systems networking

• Prior experience in requirements and verification

• Knowledge and experience with scripting (Ex. Windows(PowerShell)/Linux(shell scripting)

• Experience working with VMWare/ESXi, VSphere, and Hyper-V for automated configuration/updates

• Experience with Excel, Agile, Atlassian tool suite (JIRA/Confluence) and IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM).

• Application/Software: GIT, McAfee, Nexus, Ansible

• Experience in configurations mgmt. of packages and patches, version control and service packs

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
