Statement of the Job:

This position will design, develop, and implement AI-based software systems, processes, and approaches that support the operations and services of the Office of the Vice President for Research and Dean of the Graduate School (OVPRDGS), including for research administration, compliance, development, and graduate student recruitment and retention. Typical hiring range for this position is $75,000 to $95,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Master’s degree in electrical or computer engineering, computer science, data science, information management, or a relevant field, and at least two years of experience in computer programming and AI systems.

  • Knowledge/experience in writing AI code and using AI training programs.

  • Knowledge/experience in big data analytics and machine learning.

  • Knowledge/experience of algorithms and AI frameworks.

  • Highly developed organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Effective oral, written, and electronic communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Doctoral degree in electrical or computer engineering, computer science, data science, information management, or a relevant field.

  • Experience with AI frameworks such as PyTorch, Google and MS based programs as well as MATLAB and C++

  • Hands-on development and support of institutional reporting strategies and solutions

  • Support of Open Source Software (OSS for AI, e.g. OpenAI.

  • Proven record of providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
