REPORTS TO: Building Administration

SUPERVISES: Student(s)

POSITION GOAL: To provide a well-organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource material.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Take directions from supervising teacher (Preschool) and building administrators.

  • Supervise students throughout the school day

  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of students’ Individual Education Plans.

  • Follow behavior management plans, strategies and procedures for individual students

  • Perform personal care duties for student(s) with disabilities as needed (including but not limited to: feeding, clothing, lavatory, toileting, diapering and wash up routines)

  • Operates and cares for equipment used in the classroom for instructional purposes.

  • Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of the teacher.

  • Has a good working relationship with all other persons.

  • Completes all other tasks assigned by the supervising teacher.

  • Attends to other such duties as may be assigned by the building principal.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Work year established by the Board of Education. Pay rate and other benefits as per the negotiated contract.

EVALUATION: Evaluation procedure shall follow board policy 411.7.
