Clarke Community School District is looking for a Varsity Football coach for the 2024-2025 school year.

REPORTS TO: Activities Director/Principal

QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Iowa Coaching License/Authorization

2. Previous Playing experience (preferred) 3. Previous Coaching experience in that sport (preferred)

COORDINATES: 9-12 Sport specific Program

POSITION GOAL: To develop and grow student athletes, athletically and personally

SUPERVISES: 9-12 Coaches

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for overall management of 9-12 specific activity program

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Instruct athletes regarding techniques, rules and safety practices of the sport

  • Develops and organizes practice program with Activity Directors’s philosphy

  • Schedule and conduct practices according to agreed upon schedules

  • Supervise athletes from the scheduled beginning of the practice or game until the last athlete is picked up, knowing where all participants are at all times

  • Supervise athletes on bus trips to other schools

  • Promote the entire Clarke Community Schools Athletics program

  • Set an example of the highest ethical and moral conduct including respecting and supporting contest officials

  • Foster among the participants and spectators an appreciation of the values of athletics, an attitude of good sportsmanship, and a sense of pride in self, team, school, and community

  • Promote a healthy lifestyle to student athletes

  • Assist the activities director to ensure that lists of all players eligible for athletic contests are prepared and maintained under rules of Clarke Community School District

  • Communicates with Activities Director and/or Administrative Assistant to ensure that all athletes have completed and submitted all required documentation, including the concussion form, medical insurance coverage form and have undergone and passed any required medical examinations before the regular practice season begins

  • Communicates with parents in regard to team rules, team schedule and athletic department guidelines

  • Work with Activities Director and Activities Director Administrative Assistant to ensure accurate inventory of equipment and uniforms

  • Adhere to all safety laws and district policies

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Activities Director

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and contract length to be determined in accordance with provisions of the Agreement between CCEA and CCSD.

EVALUATION: To be done annually by the Activities Director and/or Building Principal
