Description of Department:
The CPS Department (https://ww1.oswego.edu/counseling-and-psychological-services/) is housed within the School of Education and prepares graduate level students in one of three programs. The School Psychology Program is nationally accredited by NASP and prepares students to work as school psychologists. The Mental Health Counseling Program prepares students to work in agency settings and leads toward New York State Licensure as a Mental Health Counselor. The Mental Health Counseling Program is CACREP accredited. The School Counseling Program prepares students to work as school counselors. The CPS Department has a long-standing reputation for developing high caliber professionals in these areas.
Students in the Department have the opportunity to earn a specialized certificate in Trauma Studies and or take specialized classes in Play Therapy. Faculty in the Mental Health Programs have varied research interests including Play Therapy, Eco-Therapy, and Diversity Issues in Counselor Education.
The Counseling & Psychological Services Dept. at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications to fill a full time tenure track Assistant or Associate Professor position to teach in the School Psychology Program.

Compensation: Assistant Professor rank: $63,000 - $68,000; Associate Professor rank: $68,000 - $73,000. Salary (https://www.suny.edu/hr/compensation/salary/) commensurate with experience plus full New York State benefits package.

Description of Responsibilities:
The Assistant/Associate Professor of School Psychology will teach a range of graduate-level courses in the school psychology preparation program. This person will also be expected to engage in scholarly activity, conduct advisement, and participate in university and professional service including continuing efforts toward maintaining NASP accreditation.
Additionally, the Assistant/Associate Professor will be expected to demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship, commitment to graduate education, and communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues.

Required Qualifications:
Earned Doctorate in School Psychology or related field by time of appointment
Eligibility for New York State Certification in School Psychology
Experience working as a school psychologist in a school setting
Ability to address issues of diversity in the provision of school psychological services
Candidates seeking appointment as an Associate professor should demonstrate the following:
Five years full-time teaching experience in higher education
A record of achievement in the five domains of faculty evaluation as shown in https://ww1.oswego.edu/provost/criteria-personnel-decisions
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in writing and/or implementing educational grants
Membership in and experience with professional organizations at the state and national levels
Experience supporting and/or leading school psychology program review and accreditation efforts
