NY1513947 Facilities Maintenance Helper

First Choice Staffing is looking for a Full Time Facilities Maintenance Helper for their client, Novelis, in Oswego,NY.

Job Responsibilities -Certification process for on-site forklift training. -Pre- and post- mobile equipment inspection. This process is verified with sign-off sheets. -General building repair and maintenance. -Assisting with special projects (electrical, plumbing, office requests). -Ability to climb/work both on and from scaffolding and ladders. -Complete grounds work as directed by supervision, which may include picking up trash, shoveling snow, mowing lawns, and maintaining landscaping. -Be able to perform all assignments that are requested with accuracy and efficiency. -Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift or other power equipment. -Maintain facility equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly manner. -Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.

Basic Responsibilities -Reporting to work on time in a well-maintained uniform, and with all issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). -Follow all safety policies while performing the job. -Identification and correction of both potential and existing deficiencies affecting safety and productivity. -Wearing appropriate PPE and utilizing all safety equipment. -Immediately reporting personal injury or client property damage to supervision. -Knowledge and maintenance of all OSHA standards. -Reading and understanding chemical labels and bulletins displayed in the workplace to maintain a safe environment. -Maintaining all assigned equipment by cleaning, organizing, and performing basic preventative maintenance. -Assisting in covering staff shortages as required by supervision. -Portraying a courteous and professional image to clients and co-workers. -Compliance with all Novelis policies and procedures

Qualifications -G.E.D. or High School Diploma required -Previous forklift experience preferred -Knowledge in a variety of trade areas common to building maintenance -Knowledge and experience in how to operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment

Work Hours Full Time - Day Shift

Wage $16.20 per hour
