Job Description

Olsson’s Telecommunications team provides clients with services ranging from long haul outside plant design, building entrance design, Fiber-To-The-x (FTTx) design, GIS asset management/fiber mapping services, and project permit coordination. As a summer 2025 student intern, you will gain an understanding of safety, productivity, and our impact on the communities we live and work in. We will insert you into the workflow of our team so you can understand the impact you have on real projects for real clients. You will not only work in the office but also have opportunities to get out into the field to visit project sites and clients. Learning all the systems we work in; you will gain valuable experience that will transform what you’re learning in school and help you envision your future career.

We have one current internship opening and will consider candidates interested in being located out of our Overland Park, KS or North Kansas City, MO office location.

Qualifications

You are passionate about:

  • Working collaboratively with others

  • Having ownership in the work you do

  • Using your talents to positively affect communities

You bring to the team:

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team

  • Pursuing a degree in drafting or engineering

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD

  • Previous experience with GIS software (ArcPro preferred)

  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
