Job Summary: Owensboro Community and Technical College is seeking a Success Coach responsible for promoting a positive and successful learning experience for students. The Success Coach will provide academic and personal support throughout the entire student lifecycle. The successful candidate will work collaboratively in a fast-paced, open office environment with other success coaches and advisors. This position reports to the Dean of Student Affairs.The Success Coach will facilitate advising; provide academic and transitional support; create partnerships and serve as a liaison with academic colleagues; and assess services for continuous improvement. The successful candidate will have the ability to work well with diverse populations; knowledge of best practices in academic advising and support; strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills; effective oral and written communication skills; strong project management skills; and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.Essential duties and responsibilities: •Facilitate educational planning for an assigned caseload of students to ensure students are on track to meet goals. Advise students on academic programs and pathways. Advise students on opportunities for entry into the workforce and transfer opportunities. Serve as a liaison with academic colleagues. •Operate in a high-touch, service role focused on outreach, intervention, and student success. Serve as a student advocate, referring students to support and engagement resources as needed. Identify and provide outreach to students with resources, interventions, and support activities. Help students transition to their next phase of education. •Participate in early alert and other intervention strategies to proactively intervene with at-risk students as needed. Develop and implement communication and targeted outreach plans including email, text, and social media. •Partner with program coordinators to participate in student recruitment and transfer events as well as admission and enrollment activities. •Coordinate and provide program tours for current and prospective students. •Assist in the assessment of college resources and services.
