CareFirst IT Operational Service Readiness Analyst (remote) in Owings Mills, Maryland

PURPOSE:

The IT Service Readiness Coordinator (IT operational service readiness) provides expertise in tailored, strategic, and critical work to help design, launch, and execute programs that support initiatives in the changing healthcare industry. This position will play a key role in delivering on all aspects of the IT operational service readiness framework, on complex, enterprise, cross functional programs, and projects. The incumbent will function as a champion of methodologies and implementation throughout the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Installs, tunes, upgrades, troubleshoots, and maintains all computer systems relevant to the supported applications including all necessary tasks to perform operating system administration, user account management, disaster recovery strategy and networking configuration. Provide subject matter expertise in a particular area (including but not limited to two or more of the following: change management, project management, communication, value realization, training, go-live preparedness, etc.) that contributes to the effective accomplishment of IT operational service readiness activities in support of strategic initiative goals.

  • Develop and implement techniques to prevent system problems, troubleshoots incidents to recover services and supports root cause analysis. Conduct IT operational service readiness impact assessments and collaborate with ePMO and other stakeholders for resolutions and appropriate risk mitigation. Proactively identifies resources, builds and leads cross-functional business teams between divisions, and internal and external stakeholders to deliver value to supported project teams. Provide stakeholder perspective to leadership and project teams and serve as an advocate for stakeholders. Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion and supports risk mitigation efforts.

  • Automates the installation and configuration of applications in development and productions environments. Collaborates with project sponsors and the project team to ensure success. Ensures that all defined IT operational service readiness deliverables are completed on time and on budget. Responsible for reporting on project and/or program change management activities to the steering committee. Supports the development of IT operational service readiness skills throughout the organization; provides guidance on the application of change management best practices.

  • Evaluates new systems by performing in-depth tests, including end-user reviews. Researches software and related products to support recommendations and purchasing. Determines systems integration issues by evaluating components; developing and completing performance tests; analyzing test data; studying project requirements; analyzing user and potential user input; evaluating similar and related products and systems. Develop system automation and system integration of business processes. Minimizes exposure and risk on projects and programs, including optimizing the timing of release of project deliverables into business operations and preparing the client and stakeholders for the transition. Ensures that projects follow appropriately scaled best practices and established processes, procedures and guidelines.

  • Improves engineering job knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies. IT operational service readiness Playbook Process Improvement. Introduces relevant best practices to the organization. Contribute to the continuous enhancement of the IT operational service readiness framework and supporting capabilities

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree, Information Technology or Computer Science OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.:

Experience : 5 years software, hardware and/or systems engineering related experience.

Licenses/Certifications: ITIL Foundations v3 within 180 Days preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Knowledge of programming languages and web-based technologies.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to collaborate to solve technical problems across teams.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.,

  • Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence. Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging. Salary Range: $94,392 - $187,473

This compensation range is specific and considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilites of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, internal peer equity, and market and business consideration. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range, as compensation decisions depend on each case's facts and circumstances, including but not limited to experience, internal equity, and location.
