Actalent Project Geologist in Owings Mills, Maryland

Job Title: Project GeologistJob Description

Primary responsibilities will include soil and groundwater characterization, well sampling, pumping tests, groundwater sampling, data entry and evaluation, graphics support, and remedial system performance monitoring. Staff Geologist will be responsible for operating remediation systems and compiling reports to present findings. The role also involves setting up real-time wellsite monitoring equipment, creating detailed logs, and daily reports highlighting rig activities. Some out-of-state travel to Virginia and New Jersey may be required. Candidates will perform site visits, conduct field geological and/or geophysical investigations, and oversee project work. Office tasks may include laboratory data review, boring log preparation and interpretation, and technical report writing. Duties may also include providing GIS support, database management, and producing maps.

Responsibilities

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Graduate of a 4-year college with a BS in Geology, Geological Sciences, Environmental Science or related field (geophysics, geochemistry, hydrogeology, earth science, environmental science, or soil science), or Engineering (Chemical, Construction, Environmental)

  • 2-5 years of experience required

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

  • Ability to operate outdoors in adverse weather conditions

  • AUTOCAD and GIS skills are a plus

  • Basic Microsoft Office skills

Work Environment

Geologist will be working outdoors on a daily basis, with exposure to summer heat and extreme weather conditions. The role includes working with wells and landfills. Responsibilities are divided between 50% fieldwork and 50% office work.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.04 - $31.25
