Job Descriptions:
GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The selected candidate will work with military-grade turbine engines, components, and other propulsion subsystems and structures used for development and manufacturing of tactical cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles. This position will work under the supervision of the Shop Lead. The technician is expected to perform all assembly and testing tasks via strict adherence to industry standards and company guidelines and procedures. The Shop Technician is responsible for support to the entire life cycle of the engine and propulsion systems from assembly and documentation, factory acceptance and performance testing, to preparing engines for shipping and delivery.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Performs assembly, teardown, inspection, rebuild, and maintenance on engines and components in the engine build shop
Support planning and execution of performance and production testing of engines and air vehicle subsystems while adhering to industry standards
Use common mechanic's hand tools for assembly, cutting, and drilling. Uses precision instruments, meters, gauges, and electronic test equipment for measurement and troubleshooting
Document all work accomplished in a clear, concise, legible and accurate manner
Responsible for knowing, understanding, following, promoting, and making recommendations for procedures and work instructions
May be required to work overtime and night shift if needed to support engine production or high priority projects

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or equivalent and 0 to 4 years of relevant experience working in a test cell or engine build shop
A & P Certification desired, but not required
Demonstrated technical proficiency in measurement, math, mechanical, and electrical principles Experience with Microsoft Office applications
Expertise with hazardous materials such as fuels, oils, greases, and hydraulic fluids Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical issues with engines Proficient with system interface diagrams, schematics, and 2D drawings with GD&T
Experience with manufacturing (CNC programming, welding, casting/forming) strongly preferred
WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Shop floor environment / workbench or workstation
Ability to stand, sit for long periods of time as well as bend, twist, reach, and climb ladders
Ability to perform repetitive motion (rotating wrist, using hand tools/equipment)
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 5% to 10% to support manufacturing operations
