Granville Medical Center Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist in Oxford, North Carolina

Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist is responsible for transactional processing on a timely and accurate basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and process vendor invoices

  • Mathematically extends department invoices-coding to multiple General Ledger Areas and subaccounts.

  • Year-end 1099 preparation

  • Evaluates Accounts Payables Aging on a weekly basis and makes recommendations to management on weekly check runs

  • Work with department directors regarding check request needs and required approvals.

  • Communicate effectively with other departments in the hospital to ensure that the daily operation of Accounts Payable may be maintained efficiently and accurately.

  • Validate approvals according to applicable company policies and procedures

  • Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills to answer questions and resolve issues in a timely manner; escalates issues to management when necessary.

  • Consistently performs standard, repeatable processes and procedures

  • Ability to analyze unusual or complex transactions and resolve them according to department processes and procedures

  • Performs other responsibilities as needed in the accounting department and support the Payroll Team by preparing various payroll related filings as needed

  • Responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, distribution, and reconciliation of payroll and the administration of the payroll system.

  • Follows company policies, upholds professional standards, and performs all work in a manner respectful of others.

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal legislation affecting payroll; understands and follows applicable provisions

  • W-2 processing

  • Works closely with Human Resources and other internal departments to ensure that all payroll-related processes and procedures are followed appropriately; collaborates with Human Resources to ensure employee records are up-to-date and accurate. Implements the goals and objectives established by the Controller, CEO, and CFO.

    Education Requirements

  • Associates Degree with more than 2 years experience in accounting preferred

  • High School Diploma with more than 5 years in accounting required

  • Knowledge of accounts payable

  • Knowledge of payroll

  • Knowledge of automated General Ledger systems
