Granville Medical Center Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist in Oxford, North Carolina
Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist is responsible for transactional processing on a timely and accurate basis.
Responsibilities:
Review and process vendor invoices
Mathematically extends department invoices-coding to multiple General Ledger Areas and subaccounts.
Year-end 1099 preparation
Evaluates Accounts Payables Aging on a weekly basis and makes recommendations to management on weekly check runs
Work with department directors regarding check request needs and required approvals.
Communicate effectively with other departments in the hospital to ensure that the daily operation of Accounts Payable may be maintained efficiently and accurately.
Validate approvals according to applicable company policies and procedures
Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills to answer questions and resolve issues in a timely manner; escalates issues to management when necessary.
Consistently performs standard, repeatable processes and procedures
Ability to analyze unusual or complex transactions and resolve them according to department processes and procedures
Performs other responsibilities as needed in the accounting department and support the Payroll Team by preparing various payroll related filings as needed
Responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, distribution, and reconciliation of payroll and the administration of the payroll system.
Follows company policies, upholds professional standards, and performs all work in a manner respectful of others.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal legislation affecting payroll; understands and follows applicable provisions
W-2 processing
Works closely with Human Resources and other internal departments to ensure that all payroll-related processes and procedures are followed appropriately; collaborates with Human Resources to ensure employee records are up-to-date and accurate. Implements the goals and objectives established by the Controller, CEO, and CFO.
Education Requirements
Associates Degree with more than 2 years experience in accounting preferred
High School Diploma with more than 5 years in accounting required
