Job Description Summary

Director of Passport, Ryan Family Scholars, and Grainger Scholars to oversee donor-funded programs to attract, retain, and graduate diverse students in the Passport, Ryan Family Scholars, and Grainger Scholars programs.

Job Description

The Director of Passport, Ryan Family Scholars, and Grainger Scholars will:

  • Work closely with department chairs, Dean's staff, and Assistant Director for Passport, Ryan Family Scholars and Grainger Scholars to support high school recruitment initiatives for the Farmer School of Business.
  • Responsible for budget, managing relationships between students and counselors, and working with Enrollment Operations to calculate yield rate from camp participation.
  • Coordinates with the Office of Admission and Assistant Director for Passport, Ryan Family Scholars and Grainger Scholars to develop strategies for recruiting students into the Passport, Ryan Family Scholars, and Grainger Scholars programs, including outreach and marketing.
  • Responsible for budget and tracking FSB application yield rate from recruitment activities and serves as the primary divisional point of contact for donors related to scholarship programs.
  • Develops strategy to retain and graduate Ryan Family and Grainger Scholars and Passport students.
  • Build strategy related to supporting students from underrepresented backgrounds and develop a communication strategy for families.
  • Develops programming, connects students with mentoring and other resources across campus, offers professional development workshops, and acts as liaison with other academic divisions ensure Ryan Family Scholars outside of the Farmer School of Business are well supported.
  • Uses Navigate and other systems to track interactions with students and track student progress.
  • Prepares end-of-year report on Passport cohorts, Ryan Family Scholars, and Grainger Scholars.
  • Supervises two professional staff members including Assistant Director for Passport, Ryan Family Scholars, and Grainger Scholars and Grainger Assistant Director for Academic Advising and Student Engagement.
  • Oversees recruitment, selection, and mentorship of Ryan Family and Grainger Family Scholars and Passport students.
  • Co-chair the FSB Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and ensure the committee charge is met.
  • Advises Deans on policies and programs to ensure inclusive culture that supports students, staff, and faculty.
  • Liaise with Office of Transformational and Inclusive Excellence, Center for Student Diversity, and Inclusion, and Director of Inclusive Excellence and Outreach on behalf of the Farmer School of Business.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean & Director of Divisional Advising and/or Dean of the Farmer School of Business.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required: Master's degree in Counseling, College Student Personnel, Social Work, or closely related field plus eight years of relevant professional experience in a university and/or corporate setting.
