Bank OZK Loan Operations Collateral Clerk I in Ozark, Arkansas

Job Purpose & Scope

Responsible for performing a variety of daily back-office loan functions, including research, input, and quality assurance of collateral for originated loans. A ssists new and existing retail banking centers and a variety of back-office departments with loan account maintenance and other responsibilities in a professional and accurate manner and according to Bank policy and procedures.

Essential Job Functions

  • Performs general collateral loan file maintenance, requests, and code changes.

  • Researches and books collateral for a variety of loan types (i.e., consumer non-real estate, commercial non-real estate, consumer real estate, commercial real estate, indirect marine/RV lending).

  • Researches and processes email requests, utilizing the designated email group, pertaining to collateral from Commercial Banking/Lending and various back-office departments.

  • Researches confidential documents to ensure accuracy of collateral input.

  • Researches and processes assigned daily reports, as needed.

  • Performs daily maintenance of collateral-related projects, as needed.

  • Performs quality assurance of collateral input to ensure complete and accurate information.

  • Communicates via appropriate, approved, and professional media with other departments to ensure accurate input of records into the core software.

  • Files and/or scans documents to ensure accurate record-keeping.

  • Supports Commercial Banking/Lending and other frontline staff by responding to and researching inquiries.

  • Reviews and maintains reference material needed to support collateral determinations.

  • Mentors and trains other staff as necessary and appropriate for the role.

  • Completes all assigned training in a timely manner.

  • Maintains good punctuality and attendance at work

  • Follows Bank policy, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures related to loan administration

  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally

  • Ability to learn and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to calculate figures such as percentages and fractions

  • Ability to multitask, handle repeated interruptions, adapt to change, and meet exacting deadlines

  • Ability to work without close supervision

  • Ability to demonstrate excellent internal and external customer service skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to work extended hours as necessary to accomplish work objectives

  • Skill in using computer and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, required

  • Minimum of one (1) year administrative/clerical experience required
