Job Summary:This position is responsible for the repair of barges and materials. The job responsibilities are carried out in a fabrication shop and/or within a dry dock. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, weekends and overtime are assigned as needed. There are currently openings for both first shift, 6am-2:30pm, and second shift, 2:30pm-10:30pm.What you’ll get:-8 paid holidays.-Paid time off.-Health, dental, vision and supplemental -benefits.-Expanded medical services program.-Wellness program.-Life insurance.-401(K) matching.-Employee Discounts.-Referral Bonuses.What you’ll do:-Operate welding torch, weld materials, and fit parts for welding.-Ensure watertight welds in all areas and maximum amount of footage for the type, conditions, and location of welds with few to no leaks.-Lay out and install large panels or complex shapes of steel with little to no supervision.-Troubleshoot and align steel to industry standards.-Perform difficult and repetitive tasks in a variety of uncomfortable work environments and adverse weather conditions.-Use torches and other cutting tools efficiently and safely.-Follow the company, state, and federal safety regulations. This includes wearing proper protective equipment and keeping work areas clean and well organized.-Ability to handle several welding construction and repair assignments with full accuracy and efficiency.What you’ll need:-Possess a High School Diploma or GED.-Prior shipyard welding/fitting experience preferred.-Skilled in power and hand tool operations.Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability and protected veteran status.
