Job Description:

The Business Intelligence team of the Space & Airborne Systems (SAS) Segment is seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) analyst to join our team to help us make better business decisions based on our data. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of statistics, mathematics, and data science programming languages (e.g., SQL, R, Python), ETL development, data warehouse management, data analytics, metrics optimization, and dashboard/analytics design, development, and implementation. This individual will work closely with other team members, application developers, and the business and IT owners of the data sources. Through use of data analytics, data visualization, and data modeling techniques and technologies, the BI analyst will develop dashboard solutions that can help other departments, managers, and executives make strategic and tactical business decisions.

Essential Functions:

• Collaborate with business leaders and data owners to support data architecture, data modeling, and dashboard development efforts for segment-wide Business Intelligence team• Develop dashboard BI solutions to visualize trends, predict future events, and identify business risks and opportunities• Collaborate with IT and other data providers as required to design/develop ETL packages to extract data from a variety of data sources including databases, Excel files, and SharePoint sites and troubleshoot and resolve ETL issues• Coordinate cross-functionally/cross-segment with IT and Data Analytics teams to ensure resource optimization, synchronization of initiatives, and to prevent duplication of work across the enterprise• Communicate regularly with technical, applications, and operational staff to ensure dashboard and database integrity and security• Create and maintain dashboard project documentation• Create and maintain data governance documentation including data policies, standards, procedures, and definitions for the data catalog• Support database and dashboard maintenance and cleanup efforts• Provide training and support to teammates and user communities• Must be able to prepare and deliver presentations to executive, remote, and unfamiliar audiences

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science or Engineering, or a related field and a minimum of 6 years of prior analyst experience; Or, a Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior analyst experience• 4+ years of experience working with Microsoft Power BI and Tableau Desktop Professional• 3+ years of experience working with relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake) and developing SQL queries on large data sets• 2+ years of experience utilizing ETL development tools (SSIS, ADF) and troubleshooting ETL processes• Experience with data mining, machine learning, and statistical models• Ability to translate data-related requirements into innovative user solutions, drawing on prior education and experience, standard procedures, and basic analysis, including manipulating and interpreting large data sets to provide analysis and draw conclusions

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Ability to handle complex problems and take initiative to research issues, engage in self-learning, problem solve, and implement solutions• Experience completing assignments with minimal supervision and setting objectives to meet the goals of assignments• Ability to establish rapport, communicate effectively, and collaborate with users, data providers, and management at all levels within an organization• Advanced organizational skills with ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and to comfortably adjust as priorities change• Able to operate in a fast-paced environment yet remain focused on long-term organizational goals• Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy with minimal oversight• Excellent communication skills, commitment to quality, customer focus, adaptability, and interpersonal skills
