Palo Alto Veterans Institute for Research Clinical Research Lab Assistant - Human Circadian Laboratory in Palo Alto, California

Palo Alto Veterans Institute for Research (PAVIR) supports the nation's second largest research program conducted among the VA Hospitals and is looking for a full-time Clinical ResearchLab Assistant.The Lab Assistant position is located within a human circadian laboratory at Stanford University and the Palo Alto VA Medical Center and calls for a highly motivated, intelligent, responsible, conscientious, and detail-oriented individual. The successful candidate must be a quick learner who enjoys acquiring new skills, advancing projects independently and collaboratively.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with acquisition of physiological data from non-clinical research participants
  • Assist in the cleaning and analysis of physiologic data
  • Perform literature reviews of relevant topics, as directed
  • Summarize statistical data
  • Following and ensuring compliance with institutional and federal guidelines in laboratory research
  • Preparing figures and protocols and learning lab techniques.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required:Undergraduate student;
  • 0-1 year undergraduate;
  • Preferred:Area of study in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Physics or related discipline;
  • More than 1 year research lab experience;
  • Willingness to work with human research participants;
  • Strong organizational skills, work ethic, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines;
  • Ability to work independently as well as with others as a team in a productive manner;
