Job Description

Hi all,

We have a new opening for a Life Support Trainer. Coordinate with the Life Support Training Lead to sign up to teach pre-scheduled Life Support training classes (BLS, ACLS, or a combination). Notify the Life Support Lead of any scheduling changes, issues, or concerns. Independent contractors may be removed from duties by the Life Support Lead or CEPD leadership based on performance, adherence to responsibilities, or the current needs of the organization or CEPD. Work hours will vary depending on the training conducted and will be documented by the Life Support Training Lead and the CEPD team.

Job Description Overview

Instructor Preparedness:

Participate in training sessions led by the Life Support Lead for updates on AHA guidelines.

Demonstrate thorough knowledge of current provider course materials.

Maintain competence by regularly teaching courses and being observed by the Life Support Lead.

Attend instructor meetings and training as required by the AHA, CEPD, or an affiliated training site.

Day of Class Setup and Cleanup:

Arrive on time and set up the room.

Assemble necessary equipment.

Follow SHC/LSTC guidelines for cleaning and decontaminating manikins after the class.

Leave on time as instructed.

Day of Class: Course Training:

Use AHA-approved materials to conduct the course.

Follow AHA instructor guidelines.

Adhere to policies, procedures, guidelines, and other requirements set by the AHA, SHC, and the Life Support Training Center at CEPD.

Instruct and evaluate learners based on AHA objectives.

Scheduling:

The Life Support Lead trains new Life Support Contractors on the scheduling process and reviews attendance expectations and class times.

The Life Support Lead and the CEPD team will keep time logs of work completed by each independent contractor.

Training of Life Support Contractors:

The Life Support Lead facilitates trainer certificate renewal as needed before expiration.

Ensure each Life Support Contractor teaches at least two courses per year.

Setting Expectations:

The Life Support Lead sets expectations for classroom setup, cleanup, and equipment management.

Life Support Contractor Training:

The Life Support Lead conducts AHA guideline updates and provides course materials.

Ensure competence is maintained by regularly teaching courses and being observed by the Life Support Lead.

Conduct instructor meetings and training as required by the AHA and CEPD.

Education Qualifications:

Teach at least 2 courses per year to maintain Trainer Certification null
