Naval Education and Training Command LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in Panama City Naval Surface Warfare Center, Florida

Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify applicants of anticipated vacancies in the Naval Acquisition Development Program (NADP) with Naval Sea Systems Command. Responsibilities You will perform studies and analyses concerned with improving the acquisition process for assigned logistics areas. You will prepare and present written and oral reports on assigned tasks. You will assist specialists of higher grade in developing and negotiating statements of work for contracts. You will gather facts, define problems, and explore alternative solutions to acquisition of logistics support for assigned and interfacing logistics elements. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications FOR THE GS-07 (or equivalent pay band): Your resume must demonstrate that you have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating the following: coordinating logistics functions such as transportation, maintenance and warehousing for a variety of resources. FOR THE GS-09 (or equivalent pay band): Your resume must demonstrate that you have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating 1) Providing technical advice in areas of supply, to include inventory management, inventory accuracy and warehousing; 2) Coordinating resource procurement; 3) Assisting in resolving logistics and resource problems with staff, representatives from other agencies and private industry. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: Logistics Management Series 0346 (opm.gov) and General Schedule Qualification Standards (opm.gov) Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Applicants may substitute education for experience in the following situations: FOR THE GS-07 (or equivalent pay band): Your resume must demonstrate that you have successfully completed one full year of graduate level education OR Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) through the following method (only one). No more than 10% of academic credit can be based on pass/ fail or similar non-traditional grading systems. 2.95 GPA overall or higher or in last 2 years (= or less than 10% Pass/Fail) 3.45 GPA or higher in major or in last 2 years in major (= or less than 10% Pass/Fail) Upper 1/3 ranking in graduating class (You must submit proof with your application) National Scholastic Honor Society. Membership in a freshman honor society cannot be used to meet the requirements of this provision. (You must submit proof with your application) FOR THE GS-09 (or equivalent pay band): Your resume must demonstrate that you have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree OR have obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled. NOTE: Education and experience may be combined for all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable. This announcement uses the Post-Secondary Students and Recent Graduates direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service. Vacancies filled from this announcement may be filled at any grade level listed. Several vacancies may be filled.
