PURPOSE

To ensure efficient production and packaging of a quality product through safety, housekeeping, and run time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Basic understanding of computers and printers.
  2. Ensure a good understanding of the material handling system.
  3. Have a working knowledge of the feed system, extruder, former and trim press.
  4. Ensure labels match product and work orders.
  5. Ensure the quality of the product is at target to standard.
  6. Follow and maintain all safety policies
  7. Know and understand all aspect of paperwork.
  8. Have working knowledge of changeovers.
  9. Commit to good communication between your subordinates and peers.
  10. Be able to step in and pack on any line.
  11. Always lead by example.
  12. Must maintain good attendance and dependability.
  13. Housekeeping of packing station and line area.
  14. Maintain all safety policies and guide lines.
  15. Follow all Good Manufacturing Policies.
  16. Must be willing to work overtime when needed.
  17. Other duties as assigned by group leader, supervisor, or manager of division

While performing the duties of this Job:

  • The employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
  • The employee is frequently exposed to work in high, precarious places.
  • Fumes or airborne particles.
  • Extreme heat (non-weather).
  • Risk of static shock and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Grinders utilized in production area require constant hearing protection.
  • Working around grinder.
  • Cleaning filters and material systems.
  • Exposure to high heat index during the summer months.

  • The employee is on occasion required to smell.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job includes:
    • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
    • Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more)
    • Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
    • Peripheral vision (ability to observe and area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point).
    • Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
  • Climbing to blenders and hoppers.
  • Adjusting dies, chrome rolls, and trim presses.
  • Working with maintaining feed system flow.
  • Relieving packers for breaks.
