New Bridge Medical Center LABORATORY INFORMATION SYSTEMS (LIS) ANALYST FULL TIME MONDAY TO FRIDAY 8:00 AM TO 4:30 PM 24468 in Paramus, New Jersey

Description

Responsibilities:

Oversees automated systems installations; evaluates software and makes recommendations.

Assesses reporting needs, including operational, management, regulatory requirements, and ensures report generation needs of the department are met; prepares test plans for system or software upgrades. Coordinates and executes testing, prepares environments, helps sections with documents of systems testing; acts as liaison with vendors; IT teams; participates in integration of network configurations and system servers to ensure that design meets the system and disaster recovery requirements defined by the laboratory; Acts as project manager for installation and maintenance of equipment and identification of functional capabilities of specialized software applications.

Assists with the implementation of Laboratory Information System (LIS)

Maintains required documentation to conform to College of American Pathology (CAP) regulatory standards.

Reviews CAP checklists and reviews/writes policies and procedures to comply with each standard.

Tests and implements new projects involving the Clinical and Pathology LIS as required.

Balances work across multiple projects and priorities with overlapping schedules

Recommends new technologies and tools to optimize workflow.

Ensure that all projects are delivered within the defined scope, quality, time, and cost requirements.

Overall responsibility for monitoring and maintaining laboratory systems, software and hardware, recommending and implementing systems enhancements and upgrades.

Supports lab database in preparing lab-specific ad hoc reports, maintain all files, accumulating workload statistics, providing training related to the LIS and interacting with

vendors for the selection and upgrade of software.

Testing with Laboratory Information system, external interfaces during system changes as well as version upgrades

Manage interfaces to identify and fix any issues between interfaces and the Laboratory Information system application.

Creating and updating documents to ensure knowledge transfer to enhance support.

Implementing change management requests in LIS

Instrument Interface technical support

Working with Application vendor, instrument vendors and laboratory to interface new instruments to Laboratory Information System

Creating Reports, Ad-hoc data / statistics extraction as required using the application and / or database and SQL queries.

Assisting the Laboratory Information System Managers to co-ordinate projects and resource management

Define and implement routine maintenance activities with Laboratory Information System and the IS support teams.

End-user troubleshooting to make sure expedited resolution of any issues in the production environment.

Resolving internal tickets, Helpdesk tickets created by users and maintaining updates on the vendor ticketing system.

Other Duties:

Performs other job-related duties as required.

Position Qualifications:

1-3 years of experience in a LIS support role required.

Requires at least two years of experience in laboratory information experience in database changes and instrument interfaces.

1-3 years of experience working in the Information Technology industry, including direct evidentiary talents and responsibilities for supporting laboratory information systems, associated applications and, workstations

Must demonstrate advanced knowledge of industry standard LIS systems.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, biology, medical laboratory technology, or other healthcare or another general studies field required.
