Performs entry-level administrative support work. Work involves performing a wide range of administrative and office support work for the department. Employees at this level perform assignments following specific instructions and are subject to frequent review by the immediate supervisor.Essential Duties:Assists in maintaining confidential information and records. Sorts and files documents, paper and electronic.Enters data into various Human Resources systems.Conducts data audits/updates - Education, Driver's License, Safety Impact, Professional Engineer, Emergency Contact and other system information, as assigned.Assists in event preparation, including but not limited to: New Employee Orientation, Recruiting, Wellness and other district events as needed.Gains exposure to Human Resources-related issues. (observing conversations presentations; assisting with other tasks as needed.)Performs other job responsibilities as assigned. As necessary, interns working more than one consecutive semester will continue to develop in the following areas:Draft job postingsIndependently run reports and learn to review/analyze confidential dataConduct portions of New Employee OrientationAssist with due diligence tasksDevelop presentationsRepresent TxDOT at recruiting eventsOther more advanced special projects or assignments
