Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Assistant Design Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to support the manager a team of engineers and designers producing engineering design documents and acquire the skills and experience to assume the manger role in the future.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Reviews engineering documents for compliance with applicable procedures and quality requirements.

  • Monitors productivity of engineering disciplines assigned to project.

  • Tracks project performance versus budget and schedule.

  • Coordinates with the project’s discipline engineers to identify scope changes.

  • Coordinates assembly of engineering design packages containing drawings, design calculations, specifications, and other engineering deliverables in accordance with contract requirements.

  • Promotes technical excellence on the project, including furthering the Quality Improvement Process.

  • Facilitate coordination of design work across disciplines by maintaining clear and frequent communications.

  • Advises engineering and project management regarding any problem areas, staffing requirements, delays in production, scope changes, or other events which could effect project completion and/or profitability.

  • Initiates and/or reviews change order requests for additions, deletions, or changes to the original scope of work.

  • Ensures that adequate checking is performed in accordance with discipline checking policy and procedures.

  • Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.

  • Recommends and prepares technical papers.

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, and a knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required. Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project.

  • Must also possess an understanding of the design process from concept through construction documents.

*Must have US person status and ability to obtain/maintain US federal government site and system accesses.

Salary Range:

$61,200.00 - $107,100.00
