Job Summary and Qualifications

The Occupational Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered care by managing the complete process of occupational therapeutic care of an assigned group of patients, in coordination with the physician and the patient care team. The Occupational Therapist completes patient assessments, and participates in developing and implementing individualized care plans, focusing on goal achievement, patient engagement, and positive patient experience. The Occupational Therapist provides or directs a majority of the patient’s physical therapy to support patients throughout home health and the continuum of care.

What You Will Do In This Role:

  • You will evaluate patients who have impairments, functional limitations, disabilities or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease, or other causes, and synthesize the data to establish a plan of care with therapeutic interventions and goals appropriate to patient’s age and development.

  • You will document evaluations (admission and discharge), modifications in treatment plan of care, and response to occupational therapy interventions.

  • You will determine the efficacy of therapeutic interventions, technologies and outcomes and the utilization of COTA’s, students and support personnel.

  • You will work as a part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team with other therapists, nurses, physicians, allied health professionals to deliver a team approach to each patient.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy is required. Master’s degree is preferred.

  • Occupational Therapy License issued by the Texas State Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners is required.

  • 1 year of experience in an Occupational Therapy Setting: Inpatient Rehab setting is preferred.

  • Current BLS certification is required.
