Warehouse Specialist - Patrick SFB Commissary

JOB SUMMARY:

Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory software is a must. Responsible for day-to-day warehouse operations, inventory management, freight, and shipping operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The list of essential functions below is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this job. Other duties may be assigned based on business need.

  • Annual review of all SOPs with Production Manager.
  • Configure all available warehouse and storage space to safely optimize picking time and overall product storage capability.
  • Point Person for daily Inventory Software updates.
  • Ensure all inventory items are accounted for properly via the Inventory Software
  • Complete Backorder/Partial Shipment procedures.
  • Receive orders and stock into the Inventory Software.
  • Adjust inventory stock levels as needed with approval of Production Manager
  • Unload and sort products from delivery trucks and store in their designated product location. Maintain location organization of all inventories, using first in/first out (FIFO) systems. Assure all products are documented when received.
  • Move products to designated work areas as needed in preparation to be worked in the production areas as needed.
  • Follow a pick order to accurately fulfill customer shipments. Follow department two person check to ensure accuracy of orders. Safely and accurately pack, strap and label all outgoing shipments according to shipper and customer requirements.
  • Check inventory levels and inform Production Manager or designee when products or supplies are running low.
  • Ensures proper maintenance of equipment and report repair needs to the Production Manager or designee daily.
  • Follow guidelines for disposition of damaged goods and bailed cardboard; upkeep the warehouse floor and trash removal from containers.
  • Become familiar with all tasks performed in each production area so to properly substitute for production staff in their duties when needed.
  • Make deliveries to business customers as requested.
  • Maintainhousekeeping practices and perform all warehouse work according to BACs safety practices and according to departmental procedures.
  • Eventually take ownership of in house orders (products for contract sites for example).
  • Responsible for all outbound shipments methods LTL, UPS, FedEx, etc., call tags for customer returns (i.e., damage, wrong address, wrong item).

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • None

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree supplemented by three or more years experience with inventory software, warehouse, shipping, and production experience; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. Proven experience with inventory software.
  • Must satisfy Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Level 2 background screening requirements.
  • May be required to have or obtain additional formal industry certification(s) based on area of assignment.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with disability-service and multi-division organizations
  • Bachelors Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Operations Management
  • Administrator level knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory software.
