The Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) program, an AAR business, headquartered in Rockledge, FL, provides global, world-class expeditionary and conventional aviation solutions to the US Department of State Air Wing.

Role Description:

Act as the Chief of Standards representative to interpret and implement the organization’s Aircrew Training Program (ATP), with specific oversight of the H-60 ATP. Support the ATP Manager in ensuring consistent application of the training program. Maintain accurate flight records, including

updates in the Air Wing Information System (AWIS), and manage aviation references and publications. Conduct comprehensive training and evaluations for Rotary Wing (RW) crew members, overseeing aircraft training, annual proficiency reviews, and flight evaluations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive training and evaluations for rotary wing rated and non-rated crew members, ensuring effective oversight of the standardization program.

  • Document crew member performance meticulously and develop individual flight training plans tailored to support the organization’s mission and Aircrew Training Program (ATP).

  • Assist the Chief of Standards in supervising and maintaining the standardization program, ensuring adherence to qualification training, annual proficiency reviews, and flight evaluations.

  • Serve as an active member of the INLA Standardization Committee to uphold training standards and compliance.

  • Deliver aircrew training and standardization, including academic instruction for both Rated and Non-Rated Crew Members (NRCMs), with an emphasis on day/night NVG (Night Vision Goggles) flight tasks and comprehensive NRCM training.

  • Oversee the scheduling, management, and direction of crew member training to provide safe, effective aviation support for Department of State missions in OCONUS (Outside Continental United States) locations.

  • Conduct in-depth academic and flight training, administering evaluations to ensure crew member proficiency and standardization across training activities.

  • Train and qualify crew members for both single and multi-ship missions, including day/night NVG operations, primarily under Visual Meteorological Conditions (VMC).

  • Ensure compliance with INLA standards, directives, manuals, and technical orders across all training and operational activities.

  • Monitor crew member proficiency across all mission planning and flight operation phases to ensure alignment with policies and directives.

  • Oversee maintenance and accuracy of crew member flight records, including entries into the Air Wing Information System (AWIS), and conduct thorough risk assessments.

  • Maintain current knowledge of changes and additions to all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and essential documentation integral to contract operations.

  • Sustain NVG currency and instrument proficiency, performing duties as Pilot, Pilot-in-Command, Instructor Pilot, Standardization Pilot, Air Mission Commander, and/or Flight Lead as required.

  • Conduct routine CONUS (Continental United States) and OCONUS travel to meet operational needs.

  • Execute additional aviation duties and responsibilities as assigned to support mission success.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • FAA Commercial and Instrument Airman Certificate Rotorcraft Helicopter.

  • FCC Restricted Radiotelephone.

  • Operator Permit.2000 total rotary wing flight hours including 1000 hours in H-60 series.

  • Qualification in the UH-60 A/L/M, SH-60 Series, MH-60 series or HH-60 series.

  • Night Vision Goggle NVG qualified and 300 hours of NVG experience.

  • Documented Civil or Military Instructor qualification course.300 hours turbine instructor pilot or check pilot time.

  • FAA CFI CFII Certificate or US military equivalent.

  • 3 years managing a flight-training program.

  • US DoD Secret Clearance or ability to Obtain US DoD Secret clearance.

  • Strong English speaking and written communication skill.

  • Host nation language proficiency per contract requirement.

  • LATAM countries Spanish Level 2 in both Listening and Reading L2R2.

Preferred

  • Combat experience and previous exposure to operations in Iraq or Afghanistan highly desired.

  • Previous experience with the M-4, M-9 and Glock-19 desired.

  • Prior US Military IP/SP qualified pilot and or support on the DoS INLA program.

  • Qualification in both H-60 and H-1 series aircraft.

  • Prior Experience developing and updating RW Aviation SOPs, Flight Manual, Courseware.
