Naval Supply Systems Command ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii

Summary You will serve as a Engineering Technician in the Facilities Division, Business Department of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR PEARL HARBOR. Responsibilities You will prepare cost allocation for tenant activities and provides recurring maintenance and services performed under service contracts. You will manage environmental, service, maintenance repairs and recurring maintenance, and manages work performed by standard job orders (SJO), on facilities and components. You will review plans and designs, analyze drawings, specifications, maintenance records and other sources and makes recommendations for repairs and maintenance of FLC Pearl Harbor facilities. You will serve as a Quality Assurance Evaluator (QAE) to perform administration and surveillance on a variety of service, maintenance, and repair contracts. You will review reports and printouts to ensure costs for maintenance and repairs are fair and reasonable and determines if remaining funding is adequate to meet mission requirements. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Engineering Technician specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying a practical knowledge of the methods and techniques of engineering or architecture in support construction, repair and maintenance of fuel and non-fuel related facilities and perform administration and surveillance on a variety of related service, maintenance, and repair contracts. Specialized experience must include the following: 1) Apply engineering requirements to evaluate work requests, work performed, and prepare cost estimates that include labor hours and cost, material lists, and work requested; 2) Develop and maintain a database of cost trends to provide data to determine if charges are fair and equitable; 3) Perform site and work inspections to determine work performed, methods, and materials used are in accordance with the specified in service and/or maintenance contracts; 4) Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, sketches, and specifications for mechanical, structural, electrical, utility systems, or other facilities requirements; 5) Effectively communicate technical issues orally and in writing.
