Responsibilities You will facilitate event requirements (e.g., vendors, invitations, protocol) for official social events. You will brief dignitaries' staff and support personnel on respective responsibilities for visit or event. You will coordinate all aspects of official travel plans to include itineraries, agendas, ground and air transportation requirements, lodging, escort to ensure protocol functions are followed. You will draft correspondence for social and protocol functions. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. This must be annotated on your resume. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Arranging itineraries for visiting dignitaries; 2) Planning conferences to include arranging time, place, transportation schedules, invitations, and hotel reservations; 3) Providing logistics and administrative support for all hosted social events; 4) Maintaining files on all official biographies for civilian and military dignitaries; and 5) Answering questions on social etiquette and protocol. *This experience must be fully demonstrated in your resume. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Physical Demands: Work requires some walking, standing, carrying of light items such as file folders, books and papers. Work also requires the ability to board and function on a moving platform, such as the CNRH Barge, with no special assistance. Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. OR Have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. OR Have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled. OR Have a combination of experience and education that equates to one year of specialized experience. Percentage of education plus percentage of specialized experience must equal 100%. A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education.
