Team Fletcherhas an opening for a DepartmentAccountantin Pekin, IL! This is a full-time, hourly position working on-site in the office. We are looking for a detail-oriented person with primary knowledge of accounting procedures who can perform all accounting functions for the department, record and analyze expenses and incomes, perform job costing functions, and create and present financial reports. This position is responsible for organizing and processing all on-going daily accounting activities associated with all projects including job costing and budget management for the department.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks and maintain all process compliance.
  • Manage job costing, purchase orders, credit card expenses, and budget/cash flow for the department.
  • Approve Subcontractor contracts and ensure billing accuracy.
  • Daily operational documentation including labor sheets, equipment calculations, consumables usage, and vendor expenditures.
  • Preparation of all budgets and compilation and validation of all reports.
  • Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing and auditing.
  • Auditing of all documentation to ensure accuracy of final billing.
  • Coordination with outside accounting firm(s) on monthly close-out procedures.
  • Development of written accounting procedures for staff and work with team to ensure implementation and compliance.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of progressive accounting experience, including job costing, project budget management, and financial reporting required.
  • Knowledge of accounting functions related to construction industry preferred.
  • Understanding of commercial insurance policies and procedures required.
  • Extensive experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Xactimate proficiency a plus.
  • Excellent organization, problem-solving, analytic, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work well and accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment with a demonstrated ability to manage deadlines.

This is a largely sedentary role in an office environment. However, some filing is required. This would require the ability to walk, climb stairs, lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stepstool as necessary. This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday between 7:30 am - 5:00 pm, which may require longer hours with some flexibility in hours dependent upon the business needs.
