Robert Half Staff Accountant in Pendergrass, Georgia

This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Pendergrass, Georgia area, at a company where effort is rewarded. To succeed in this role, you will need to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. Consider this role if you want to participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. This could be the ideal position for you, if you have a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.

What you get to do every single day

  • Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

  • In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

  • Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting

  • Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

  • Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

  • Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

  • Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

  • Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision

  • Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable

  • Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting

  • Take part in various department-wide initiatives

  • Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions

  • Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks Requirements - Adeptness in Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Knowledge of Full Cycle Accounting

  • Month end closings experience desired

  • Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Foundational knowledge in Annual Financial Reporting

  • Ad Hoc Reporting experience

  • Be detailed, flexible, and organized

  • Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

  • 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

  • Knowledgeable of ERP systems

  • Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

  • Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail

  • Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
